Kinley is an AI wellbeing coach operated by Freckle Social Inc., a Delaware C-corporation based in Oakland, California. This page describes the Kinley SMS messaging program: what messages you'll receive, how to opt in, how to opt out, and how to get help.

What messages you'll receive
Once you opt in, Kinley sends 1:1 conversational coaching messages related to your wellbeing — including check-ins, replies to your messages, and gentle nudges about sleep, movement, mental health, and relationships. Messages come from Kinley, your AI wellbeing coach, not from a marketing list.
How you opt in
You opt in by signing up at heykinley.com/auth, entering your phone number in the optional phone field, and checking the SMS consent box. The exact consent language on the sign-up form reads:
"I want Kinley to text me. I consent to receive recurring SMS from Kinley, operated by Freckle Social Inc., at the phone number above. Consent is not required to sign up. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help."
The checkbox is unchecked by default. Phone number and SMS consent are both optional — you can use Kinley entirely in the web app without ever providing a phone number. Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of signing up for or using Kinley.
After you opt in, Kinley will text you first to confirm. From there, you can text Kinley anytime, and she can text you with check-ins and replies.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies based on your conversation with Kinley. Most users receive a handful of messages per week. Kinley does not send bulk marketing blasts.
Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Kinley does not charge you to send or receive messages.
How to opt out
Reply STOP to any Kinley message at any time to opt out. We always honor it. After you reply STOP, you'll receive a single confirmation message and no further SMS from Kinley unless you opt in again.
You can also remove your phone number from your account at any time.

Reply HELP to any Kinley message and you'll receive a reply with contact information and a link back to this page. You can also email katie@joinfreckles.com for support.
Privacy

Supported carriers
Kinley SMS works on all major U.S. mobile carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
